In 2017, Fire Station began sponsoring Qatari artists to participate in an international residency programme at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, France. Cité internationale des arts is one of the most dynamic international residency programmes.
The programme allows the resident to pursue their art practice during their stay while engaging with what the city has to offer from museums, galleries, and other art spaces. The residents will have the opportunity to network with international artists, the public and other arts professionals in an open studio event.
Application Process and Eligibility
Fire Station accepts artists through an annual Open Call or by nomination.
This residency is open to Qatari artists, including children of Qatari mothers aged 21+, and includes 24-hour access to a private furnished studio space with one bedroom and kitchenette. Accepted residents are granted a monthly stipend (including living and materials allowance) and one return travel ticket.
