Emelina Soares’ practice revolves around fabricating an Orientalist perspective that forms her identity. As a third culture individual of Indian ethnicity with Portuguese ancestry, raised in Qatar, she has developed a curiosity about intercultural influences and the use of semiotics to bridge this perplexity. She has a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from VCUarts Qatar.
